A configurable product like with Magentos would be awesome. I love open cart, and having experience with Joomla! I was able to put a store up in 3 days. Brilliant! I really like this cart a lot. Adding a Configurable product would make it really stand out.
Lets take store bags as an example. There are paper, plastic, reusable, etc. They all have multiple sizes. Being able to create Configurable product, or master product, and listing associated products as options in a drop down.
So viewing the master product paper bags would display a drop down of individual products(all the different sizes) for sale. Choosing one from the drop down would bring up that products tiered pricing. So instead of having 15 products for paper bags, one for each size listed in the catalog there would one master product with the individual items assigned to it.
