Hello.
I just finished setting up an opencart website. It is using version 1.5.2.2 r990.
I did a lot of custom coding, and have added half a dozen extensions.
My question - assuming I don't need any of the new features in 1.5.3, are there any other important reasons to upgrade?
Such as some security, performance problem, or other serious bug that was fixed from the version I am currently using?
Great post Bigchili,
was going to ask the same question since I also have so many mods now installed ...
I was just wondering how do we simply UPGRADE the FCK Editor, I think this is the only usefull thing I found in 1.5.3.1
Anticipated thx

I haven't done the full upgrade yet either, but I did do fckeditor - I just copied the files for it from the new version to my server. Seems to have worked fine.
I also upgraded the file manager by doing the controller & template files for it and it is a LOT faster than it was in 1.5.2
I will do the full upgrade eventually probably, but as it seems there were changes in the default template and most of my stores use this template, I am putting it off

Running Opencart v3.0.3.9 with multi-stores and the default template from https://www.labeshops.com which has links to all my stores.
I did try to look into this. I'm not sure where the "change log" is that you refer to.
It seems the official threads mention the following:
FIXED:
- SQL error in install
- Bulgarian zones list is incomplete
- Various Bug fixes listed in the 1.5.2 Bug Thread
Looking at that I'm not sure if the SQL error is something that affects me?
Regarding the various bug fixes, I then went to the code.google.com page but frankly was just confused by it.
Is there some other page that lists what is fixed besides this one that is easier to understand?
I was hoping a more experienced user could just give me advice about my specific question, which was perhaps not asked in a clear way.
I mainly wanted to know if the upgrade was a necessity because of some serious performance or security issue that was addressed and fixed by the upgrade.
I'm setting up opencart for a client. I'm just about finished and everything seems to be working perfectly. Am I doing them a disservice by not upgrading to the latest version?
