Can please confirm whether this new revision (opencart-1-5-3-x-export-import) works with OC 1.5.2.1 ?
If can, I will try to install new revision (1-5-3-x...) on OC 1.5.2.1
If cannot, then how to make it work with OC 1.5.2.1?
opencart-1-5-3-x-export-import only works for 1.5.3 or 1.5.3.1.bnvspl wrote:Hi JNeuhoff,

Is there a maximum file size for the xls. Mine have been working fine until the latest file which is 8.46meg and now the import button just refreshes the page and nothing else happens. But when I test a smaller file it works fine.
Any help would be great, thanks.

The file size is only limited by the amount of memory available on your server, see the readme.txt file for typical PHP settings on this.subtilty wrote:Hiya,

The memory is set to 999mb and I am uploading on my own local server so it cant be that. The import button literally does nothing so it doesn't have time to even detect a size. Do you know of an error where it does this? Import button refreshes the page.
Thanks
Have checked all your log files, e.g. your server's error_log, OpenCart's system/logs/error.txt, or /vqmod/vqmod.log ?subtilty wrote: Hi Thanks,

I really need to have someone help me figure this out. My site is completely broken if I cannot fix this issue.I've been having some problems with this. I've used previous versions of the extension before, and found it to be really great, so was keen to use it again.
My OC version is 1.5.2.1
My php version is 5.3.6
I'm using the extension "opencart-1-5-2-x-export-import-6.zip"
It all installed fine, but when I export, I just get a junk corrupted xls file. There is only one product in the shop at the moment, I was exporting to get a xls to fill with products.
I've had a good read through this thread, and it's not the php ini settings for memory, as I have mine set pretty high. I also checked if anything was missing from the libraries (as that'd been mentioned) compared to http://phpexcel.codeplex.com/releases/view/26479 , but it looks fine, diff-ing the contents of once against the other. There are no errors, warnings or notices, so nothing much to go on.
So... any ideas anyone?
Some more info on the nature of the corrupted file...
Message on opening the file in Excel:

Hiya, I have yes and none of them contain any errors for the issue.
I will also attach a screenshot of this issue. I am really at a loss here. This is absolutely IMPERATIVE I get this fixed-otherwise my site is pretty much broke.Mike,
I think you're going to have to work with the developer on this one. If they can set up a test script I can run independently then maybe I can find out more but as far as I can tell everything they need is installed and working on this end. Note the following...
http://pear.php.net/package/Spreadsheet ... r/download shows;
Dependencies:
PHP Version: PHP 4.1.0 or newer
PEAR Package: PEAR Installer 1.4.0b1 or newer
PEAR Package: OLE 0.5 or newer
Notice the pear site indicates 'or newer'. I'm on 'or newer'.
I'm on PEAR Version: 1.9.4
Spreadsheet_Excel_Writer 0.9.3 beta
OLE 1.0.0RC2 beta
OLE and Spreadsheet_Excel_Writer were both last updated 1/26/2012, BETA. They also both show they're not currently being maintained. Before that Spreadsheet_Excel_Writer was updated in 2009 and OLE in 2008, both also BETA.
Other people have the garbled issue and one person even said in 2010 they believed PEAR was planning on deprecating Spreadsheet_Excel_Writer. https://www.google.com/search?q=pear+Sp ... 63&bih=896
I'll help the developer wherever I can, but I've spent many hours trying to solve this issue and the only thing left is it has to be a bug or outdated nature of the Spreadsheet_Excel_Writer module. There were some changes on the server when we upgraded which killed an old Perl shopping cart. Isn't any way for me to fix it unfortunately. When you're dealing with old (old {old [old]}) code eventually it will not work. It's just like when you update Windows. Printer drivers don't work. Other software glitches. I was on Windows 7 with Quickbooks Pro 2009... not that old you'd think, but QBP 2009 had issues on Win7.
I do have something which might help until they update or can tell me how to correct. Start Excel. I've on Excel 10. Open file. Select 'Open and Repair' (instead of just 'open). Select 'Extract Data'. Select 'recover formulas'. That will get you the data of the order. It'll be raw data but you'll be able to see it.
Thanks...

The link above had a post with someone mentioning an excel exporter that was far more current (they were recommending developers use that instead of the other which was not actively developed and likely being dropped). You might want to ask the developer about switching to that other one since they will probably continue to have problems if they stick with what they are using.

When I check the store, the import has only added the details from the first tab of the xls file. There are no attributes or additional images displayed. Any help?
Thanks

Increase your PHP memory_limit setting.bilinnas wrote:Hi,

Line 1988 for the 1.5.0.x release of the Export/Import tool contains this line:roverash wrote:Hi, Mike,

Found in error log in system a message like:
"PHP Notice: Trying to get property of non-object in .../public_html/admin/model/tool/export.php on line 1988"
$worksheet->write( $i, $j++, $subtract, $textFormat );
This line is NOT likely to cause your error messages, as the previous lines starting with $worksheet->write worked just fine.
So I think you must have used a different version of the Export/Import tool, and/or a different OpenCart version.
May I also add here that most of the posted messages here are not about the 1.5.0.x version, or they tend to provide insufficient details, just preventing me from being able to reproduce and fix the bugs.

Yea, I dunno. I am still having the issue but the open and repair is working for me. Not ideal, but at least it's a workaround.
