Hi Everyone,

I have gone through open software and wondering if anyone can help me. I have 2 change requirements on Open Cart software. Please find below the change requirements and also example. Could you please check and let me know whether the below requirements are feasible or not?

Requirement 1
at any time user can order only from one shop.
Requirement 2
the checkout amount should be controlled by a minimum and maximum limit
each shop has its own min max limit

Best Regards
Preetham

Example

->city1
-->area1
---->shop1
------->item1
------->item2
---->shop2
------->item3
------->item4
-->area2
---->shop3
------->item5
------->item6
->city2
--->area3
---->shop4
------->item7
------->item8

-> The below cart is OK
Cart
item1
item2

-> The below cart is not OK
Cart
item1
item3

For the above category structure, an user cannot buy items from both asianpaints and nerolac in a single cart.

Hello Everyone,

For my multishop requirement where i restrict customers to buy only from one of the shops
i want to setup to be as shown below.

ShopName GROUP
Area1>PizzaHut1 GROUP1
Area1>Dominos2 GROUP1
Area2>PizzaHut2 GROUP2
Area2>Chinese1 GROUP3
Area3>USPizza GROUP4

Setup
GROUP Min Order Max Order
GROUP1 100 250
GROUP2 200 350
GROUP3 50 250
GROUP4 100 550

Cart can have items from only one group.

Also i have one more requirement. When customer logs into his account then i want the below thing to be displayed

Search shops by Address
Address1
Address2
Address3

Address1,2,3 are entered by user while registering account or previous order history.

Please let me know how difficult it is and how much it costs?

Please let me know if you need any more information.

Best Regards

Preetham,

You are describing how Multi-store setup works. The carts do not get mixed up with each other. You do need some custom programming to restrict customers to buy only from one of the shops.

Below is the Multi-store setup text from my OpenCart 1.5 User Manual:

Setting up two stores is, well, more than twice as complex as setting up one. We really, really recommend that you use a technical pro. Very little of it is done in your Admin - the majority is domain and web host work. If you must do it, here is how.
1. First install and set up Store #1. You will need to purchase a "Wildcard" or multi-domain security certificate to cover multiple stores. We recommend that you purchase the Wildcard SSL Certificate from your web host to make it as easy as possible! Ask your web host if you need help. We will call this Domain1.
2. Buy another domain name (We'll call this Domain2) and set the name server to go to the same name server as your existing OpenCart store. Again, we recommend that you purchase your domain name from your web host to make it as easy as possible. Ask your web host if you need help.

In your web host's cPanel or other control panel, Domains - Add-On Domains section, add Domain2 and point it to the same folder as Domain1, example, public_html/store (substitute your own path for the path shown here). Ask your web host if you need help.
3. Install a different template for the second store so it will be easy to tell the two stores apart.
4. Ask your web host to install domain2's wildcard certificate.
5. NOW you are ready to add this to your store's Admin! In your store Admin's SYSTEM - Settings list, click the top right INSERT Button. Follow the instructions above for the SYSTEM - Settings - General, using Domain2 instead of Domain1. Be sure to click the SAVE Button.

TIP: Instead of two different domains, you can use two different "sub-domains" like horses.petpalace.com and dogs.petpalace.com, or austin.mystore.com and atlanta.mystore.com. This is just a domain record setting at your domain registrar. Contact your domain registrar for help.

Hope that helps.
Merry
