Hi,

I just can't seem to get even the Pre-installation page up and running.

So:
following the instructions on the installation page:
1. Unzipped and uploaded contents of /upload/.
2. Created the /cache/ folder - (this should really be mentioned somewhere on the installation page)
3. chmodded all the listed files and folders first to 0775,
4. Visited the store page

and I get a 403 error:

Error 403 Forbidden (access to /store/install/index.php failed because search permissions are missing on a component of the path).

Tried again with 0777 - nothing.

My hosts are Nearlyfreespeech.net - anything to do with this?

Help!

In version 1.3.2, the "/cache/" folder has been moved to "/system/cache/". Folder permissions should be "0777", and file permissions either "0777" or "0666".
This version also includes error logging. Have a look for "/system/logs/error.txt". This file (if it exists) lists any errors reported back from the system.

The error you're getting may also be related to permissions on the following files: "index.php", "admin/index.php" and "install/index.php". Some servers require the settings on these files to be "0664".

Hope this helps.
