Hi

anyone know if it's possible to export created geo zones from one installation so it can be used in another. i'm based in the UK and would quite like to set up zones for the UK, the EU and the Rest of the World. i notice the the Royal Mail break it down like so - http://www.royalmail.com/delivery/deliv ... nes#europe so technically there are 4 zones. be good if we could create them and then move them between carts, maybe we can or it's been done. i dunno. anyone else have any thoughts?

Go to System > Backup/Restore.
Unselect all in list, and then select only geo_zone.
Back this selection up, and name it geo_zone.
This you will be able to reuse again in order to install all you info via the restore function.

You'll also want to export zone_to_geo_zone, as that's the table that contains the actual zone information.

thanks for the replies to this which i have only just seen.

i performed the procedure above, no errors but it didn't work. i am backing up from v1.4.9 and importing in the latest 1.5 version. might this make a difference or cause a problem?

ok quick update on this

i just created a new Geo Zone in my latest installation and named it and the description exactly the same as from my exported version. hit 'save' and then 'edit' and the countries were there. so it does work, you just need to create the zone and description the same to see the countries.

actually, not all of the zones worked. my 'rest of the world' & 'Australasia' zones copied fine but the EU countries and Non EU countries failed to populate. weird.
