Hello all,

Please provide any insight into the following configuration issue I am having:

I recently upgraded my OC install from 1.2.9 to latest version (1.3.2) and have it pretty much configured to my liking... EXCEPT... the new feature to display prices only after a customer logs into their account is not working. I toggle the setting on and off with no change to the product pricing displayed on front end (product prices are always displayed).

Thanks!

I have the same exact problem!

This feature doesn't seem to do anything. Whether it's on or off, the prices display as normal.

Before I report this as a bug, is this feature working for anyone?

Hi all,
i got same problem on my site but i noticed that the feature works if it 's a new installation (i had upgraded my OC from 1.2.8 to 1.3.2).

Thanks all 4 help.

[EDITED] I found the problem. It works if u had the Default template but not if u had a custom template (i use the blue1). Can someone try to understand where is the problem now?

Thanks again .

Isn't it obvious? You are using an old template that doesn't have the checks for the pricing and login options. Older templates are not compatible with 1.3.2 if using any of the new display features like that.

It's only obvious because Qphoria explained it, and it still doesn't make much sense. From a developer's standpoint, it doesn't make sense to have a template-based system if upgrading the base product breaks the templates. There has to be a way to allow templates to automatically reflect changes in core functionality. I realize that's one more abstraction layer, but I think the payoffs would be worth it.

For ChromiumCart, I created a template fallback system so that templates could be made by only including modified files. All other files would fallback to the "default" files. So you could create a new template by simply changing the stylesheet and the layout files

This resolved a lot of problems like this, however, in the case of a "default" file changing, it would still need to be updated

Hi,

I have the same problems. I upgraded from 1.3.0 to 1.3.2.
I am using the default template.

I changed the option in settings to "Login Display Prices:" to Yes but when I try and save the settings, nothing happens. It does not save my changes and keeps displaying the price.

Please help!!!

I also added in a discounts and special prices for my products, but it does not do anything. The price is still the original price, when it used to put a line through the original and give you the discounted price.

Is there an update to Opencart or is it a bug in that is being looked at.

thanks
Kris

Use the tpl files from the "default" folder from the new version. If you've made lots of changes to some of the tpl files, be sure to note which ones those were. For tpl files you haven't changed, replace those in your custom template folder with the ones from the new folder. Then for files you did change, you will have to manually merge your changes over to the new versions.
