Please can you add the ability to add related products to the shopping cart?
If related products were a module, I would simply add to a particular layout, but since it's not, it's probably not that trivial a matter to implement this.

While this suggestion may be a good idea, each products would need to be regrouped in order for related products to be amongst each groups in the mean time. At the present time, the related products only operates based on each individual main products and not by multiple products at a time. Meaning, it would take more than a simple module to develop such integrity.

There is a related product module available. I haven't tried adding it to the cart page, but works great on my product page.
Running Opencart v3.0.3.9 with multi-stores and the default template from https://www.labeshops.com which has links to all my stores.
If that's too complicated, *first* related product for each product in cart, would do as well...
