Once I've set up my Opencart template and everything is in working order. How do I set up my shopping cart? Is that something that has to be set up with a bank or paypal etc... It doesn't just work automatically does it?
Any help would be appreciated.

heh .. Yes you'll need to set it up with Paypal or get a merchant account with a bank.
