Remove column_right from home.tpl only

Hello, I'm wanting to remove the right column on just the home.tpl. I believe I need to insert a php command in the layout.tpl, under the div "column_right". I just don't know what the proper syntax/command is. Any ideas?

The overall effect I'm looking for is a 100% middle div on just the home page, other pages will have the cart module + information module on the right side. BTW I'm only using a 2 column layout.
