Hi all,
may be I missed something and a search on forum didn't help.
How to have a manufacturer's column in products list, in administration?
There are name, category, price, even image etc but no manufacturer.
How can display a list of products, ordered for manufacturers? and see, before product name, the manufacturer name (or brand)?
Thanks in advance
Hi
You could look at an inexpensive commercial mod by hildebrando, check with dev to see if compat with
your version of OC.

Thanks Godologic,
this it means that OC cannot list manufacturers by default? need to buy a mod for this?
Seems weird to me, nobody had this need before?
IMO this is a feature that have to be in core, not as mod, don't you think so?

On this specific point I agree, however it is important not to overbloat OC, many carts are much more category
driven also admin area needs to be kept as straight forward as possible, too many options might confuse some.
The mod I suggested is relatively cheap, however there is free mod
http://www.opencart.com/index.php?route ... on_id=2663
which allows filter on category which is very handy, if you are so inclined it would not take too much further work to
filter on manuf.
You have to bear in mind when you purchase a comm.. mod you are also paying for support and future dev as OC
get's new releases, also if a body has taken the time, surely he deserves some recompense and also contributes 20% to OC which helps keep the show on the road.
Still the choice is entirely that of the individual, I like to get my hands dirty and get to grips with code.
Best Regards

Hi Godologic,
my surprise wasn't for contribution that is for pay, it's cheap and worth money, but for the fact that, in my opinion, to list manufacturer is the first thing to list when look at products: manufacturer>productname>price> all the rest. Isn't an overbloat, it's the basic.
Imagine that you have (like in my case now) hundred of products by different brands and you don't sell anymore one or more of that brand, so want delete all their products and how? opening one by one to see if belong of those categories? seems yes.
Also, I'm surprised because I didn't found anything in forum, so nobody miss this function before? all consider this an optional? very weird IMO.
In any case, if this is the only solution, I'll open a feature request in proper forum and buy Hildebrando's contribution.
Thanks a lot for assistance
