Change default image folder

I wonder if it is possible to change the default image-folder while uploading new images. My idea is to make a modification that creates new folders for products, categories, banners etc. When a user creates a new category I want the "/image/category" folder to open on default. But I can't find the correct files to edit.

I hope someone can help me out.

Well the image paths that are assumed as a base are in the config.php files in root and in /admin.

Outside of that the image manager runs (like most do) fairly separated from Open Cart itself, it might be fairly easy to make these changes, but it's not something I've ever looked at to be honest. Typically it's a pretty big mix of javascript and php
