new installation with error in store admin

Hi All

I just installed Opencart v1.3 just for trial, and I found below error when I logged in store admin.

Can anyone advise what is wrong? what is the remedy?

Your host has disabled curl, as the error message says.

To resolve:
1. Contact your host and ask them to enable it on your account as it is a requirement
2. Find a new host

Thanks. Can I know if Curl is a must fr opencart function to run?
Which features of module need curl? Only the currency?

How can one know if a hosting provider can allow curl to run?
Checking the php version or ...?
