Upgrade question

Hi all,

Can someone please help?

I am new to Opencart and currently running an old version but would like to upgrade.

If I run a backup and then upgrade and restore will it restore all my products etc or when I upgrade will everything be lost and have to add all products??

Also when upgrading do I just upload all files to necesaary place and it over writes previous files?

Just a little more information... I believe I am currently running v 1.2.8 or whatever one was availble back in may so is it possible to jump from this version to the latest v 1.3.2??
