Even if I change the status of an order it still shows as cancelled when I save it and when a new order is filled.

Any ideas?

Check the order status in the store settings is set to cancelled. Change it to anything else you fancy . See the attached image.

They aren't likely showing as canceled. Canceled just happens to be alphabetically first in the list of order statuses. I could add a "no status" to clear that up. But if you are seeing those, then they are in the Missing Orders filter. Those aren't technically orders. They are mostly temp orders that people never finished ordering
