In a store I am building, the system is set to notify the customer at order time if the item is out of stock, but allows them to order it.
So the system notifies the customer. Is there a way to get the system to also notify the storekeeper of ordered items that are out-of-stock, so they can appropriately schedule the processing of that order? That is, without having to either manually look up every ordered item in the inventory manager or go pull the order before discovering that something ordered is out-of-stock?
Custom statuses can be used to track the processing of backordered items, but it's that initial process of identifying an order as a Ship Complete or Ship & Backorder that I'd like to try to improve on if possible.
Am I just overlooking some setting, or is there some add-on that will do this?
Thanks!
Hi, I did purchase a Notify module from the Extensions, but it didn't quite work the way I wanted it to. It seems like you manually have to check in the module.

I noticed there is a new version, maybe this has been addressed?
