Me and others like to have a function that force the customer to add the email twice in registation just to avoid writing wrong emailaddress.
And if they dont match an alert will them to so on the site.

According to MarketingSherpa's study (you can buy the $500 report if you wish) the double email only hurt conversion rates, and their reasoning for invalid email entries was that people dont trust the site (and dont want to risk getting spammed).
Of course, this might be a good plugin, but definitely not core functionality.
I think it's ironic that you misspelled address in the post title

Thanks for your answer and explanation.
A solution of this could be an alert to customers that ask them to double check that they spelled their email address right?
And explaining that it is important because it's our way of keeping customers informed about what is happening with the order.
Im not so good in spelling English so the word is changed now

The other way around, what if the customer does not wish to be informed over email ? Would it be really necessary to fill in their email address twice ?

While the input may be true for registered customers, how would this percentage average value can be known as a fact if new customers haven't registered their account yet ?Solan wrote:If i speak for my self and my own shop i think 99% really would want to have information about their order that they spent money on.

im not sure what you mean but my problem is that some customers seems to be in such a hurry when registrating that they forget a . (dot) or writes hotamil instead of hotmail and so on.
Then emails about their order doesnt reach them, nor does the email notification with the instructions of where to pick up their items.
But again, thats only a wish for my store.
