Hi Members

Something unusual has happened to my "Shopping Cart" total. I am performing a "test purchase" and when I observe the items in my shopping cart, each individual item is priced correctly at $0.01 each BUT the Total of all items in my cart reads $0.00 (zero). The Total should read $0.02. Its quite obvious that Opencart is not totaling the items listed in my "Shopping Cart".

As a result, Paypal is not available as a payment method in Step 5 of checkout (obviously because my shopping cart total is reading as $0.00 (zero).

It was working fine prior to me changing something in "admin" but I can't remember what it was I changed. I went over all settings in the following critical areas and made sure it is configured properly:

System/Settings
Catalog/Products
Extensions/Payments

Any ideas what the issue could be and the fix?

Watching this thread also.

I just installed two OC on two separate domains and have one running fine, the other has totals showing zero in the cart summary at the top of the page and when I click through to checkout.

fI it is a setting I have done wrong great!

If i have broken a part of the script any suggestions how to de bug it methodically?

These are my first installs so I don't want to rush around like a chicken with my head cut off if there is a methodical way to find such an error.

Good point harpoonlouis.

I too was also wondering if I had corrupted the code or something. Its usually always something I changed in the admin settings that can be causing the issue of cart totals summing up to ZERO. If all else fails, i will delete the Opencart Upload folder and reinstall. I can accomplish this because my store is not set-up with all products as of yet. Otherwise it would be a headache to have to upload all products again and configure.

Thank you and watching for a fix to this issue as well.

Try going to Order Totals > Sub-Toal and Enablinig it.

I thought this just switched off the Sub Total in the Check out Section but it looks like it switches it off in the masthead position too.

Yes harpoonlouis, that is the fix.

I found a link that addresses this problem and it supplied the fix as well. As usual it was something I mistakenly "Disabled" in Opencart.

In short the article basically said:

This issue arises because the “SubTotal” module was disabled. You just need to enable this module. To enable Sub-Total module, follow the steps below.

1. Login in to Admin Panel.
2. Go to Extensions > Order Totals.
3. Find Sub-Total and Edit the module.
4. "Enable" it and Save it.
5. You are Done.

Originally, to be sure that my "download" function would work properly (with regards to all my digital download products), I mistakenly "disabled" ALL order-total choices located in admin--> Extensions/Order Totals. Specifically, I accidentally "disabled" "Sub-Total which was a mistake. I went back and "ENABLED" Sub-Total.

Now my shopping cart totals all items correctly. Fixed!
