creating modules

Hey,

I am using OpenCart and have managed to change the styles of the theme to match it to my existing website. But i cant change the sidebar as i dont know how to?

Now someone has mentioned "modules".. if i was to make a module called basket.tpl would this be added to the sidebar?

you can alter your sidebar in catalog/view/theme/default/stylesheet/stylesheet.css on line 116 #column_right

I know how to change the styles in the style heet but i want to add some text in the sidebar. I have tried adding a file called basket.tpl but had no luck..

Any ideas
