I know I can edit coupon.php to exclude products on 'special', but is there a way to exclude certain products from coupons. e.g. we sell engines for $16000 and don't want to give 10% discount on them ;D

I guess I could put everything I don't want to discount on special, then hack coupon.php, but this is not a long term or clean solution.

Thanks

So by default you want all products to be eligible but the select few you want excluded?

Hi Q,

Requirements:

1. Exclude anything on special or discounted price from all coupons.

2. Be able to add products by 'Category' to a specific coupon.

Easier than having to type 300 items into a coupon. For example, if I want to run a promotion on all DART cylinder heads, I have to add them one by one by 'name' which is very complex to do due to the 'name' being long and quite involved. (nature of the products)

3. Be able to add products by 'SKU' or 'Model' (for me they are the same thing) to a coupon.

Just cleaner than using the 'Name', especially when we have 100s of products with similar, and very looong names.

If I could get number 1 as a VQMod instead of having to hack coupons.php that would be great.

If I can get a solution for number 2 that would be the icing on the cake.

Number 3 would be a great 'nice to have'

Thanks for looking at this for us.

N

Do you want some custom work to implement this for me?

You could even do it simpler than that. There are a lot of products that I sell that are MAP priced - I can't go any lower, including with coupons. So when I run a coupon, I don't really have a way of saying "This one is excluded". If there was an autocomplete type of form like there is when selecting related products, or even if I could simply enter the item's id number, it would be a tremendous help.
