I am still having a problem with my checkout process hanging at either Step 2 or 3 (depending on whether I enter a new address, or choose an existing one -- either way, I can never proceed past Step 3). It seems that nobody knows how to fix this bug, so I am wondering, should I try downloading an earlier version of OC and uploading the files on top of my existing files? Everyone who seems to have this bug (with no apparent solution?) seems to be using the newest version, 1.5.1.3.

I have backed up my existing files just in case, but will this work, to upload files from V 1.5.1.2, for example? Will I have to run some sort of script to downgrade back to this version? Will I lose any of my settings from my current shop? Is this a bad idea? Are certain specific folders that I should try uploading first, that might pertain to this checkout bug, rather than uploading ALL the files in one go, or is that a no-no, to mix and match files from different versions?

Please help!
Thanks,
-lindsey

I'm not sure if there were any database changes between 1.5.2 and 1.5.3 or not, but if there were you won't be able to downgrade. there are no downgrade scripts of any sort in existence to my knowledge. If there were no database changes you can just overwrite the files. except for config.php and admin/config.php you never want to overwrite those unless you are starting over.

Sweet! I uploaded all the files from the previous version, and it seems to be working now :)

I have been reading a lot of post with the same error that it will never proceeds to step 3. I got same error also here... but it seems like no solutions yet..(this must be simulate with the admin) .. it just hangs up. but if you check the admin side the user successfully register...

Any idea how to solve this?

Thanks,
Mr. J

Well, I had solved the hanging at step 2 problem by uploading an earlier version of the OC files (1.5.1.2), which worked for like a day, but now I'm having the same problem where it hangs at Step 4

So frustrated with this. I really wish someone had an answer here :(

FWIW, I also sometimes get this error message whenever I'm working in the admin back office:

"Notice: session_start() [function.session-start]: ps_files_cleanup_dir: opendir(/tmp) failed: Permission denied (13) in /home/yarniapdx/www/onlineshop/system/library/session.php on line 11"

Could this be related at all?

cotnact your host about this problem and yes that would stop it working.

Is there a solution to this. I am hoping so since I have not seen a post about it since Oct.

I am running a test checkout and I can't get past step 3 (delivery details) in opencart 1.5.1.3. I have tried using existing address and new address but neither one worked.

What is the solution please?
