Hi, I'm wondering what would be the best way to go about adding a Category selector (drop down menu) to the Search Box like the older versions of OC.

For example: http://blog.ericlamb.net/wp-content/upl ... -Store.png As displayed in the image, the older version had a category selection menu beside the search box. Meanwhile, the later version: http://i.minus.com/if70Q1nXK0WaS.png does not.

How would I go about recovering that feature in the later version, v1.5.1.3 to be exact. Thanks, I appreciate it.

Hi, I am also interested in this drop down box. It would be great when it brings you directly to the selected category or product page.

Did you solve it? I've searched everywhere.

No, unfortunately I never solved it. The closest I got was by utilizing the search box code in the advance search page. But I didn't know enough about it to actually make it work. I was able to get both the search box and category box to appear, but I never successfully got it to display the actual categories in the drop down so you could select them.

The only thing I can suggest is that you put a link to the advance search page beside the search box.
