How to disable radio buttons in shipping estimator in cart?

Hi guys, my Oc version is 1.5.1.3 and although I'd like to leave the option of estimating costs in 'cart', I need to disable radio buttons in the shipping estimator (in cart) and hopefully also hide 'Apply shipping' button because :

1) I don't see any sens in making a customer do the same twice - that is in 'cart' and at the end of 'checkout';
2) the applied cost in 'cart' is not updated in 'minicart' when a customer changes their mind and chooses different shipping method in 'checkout' (which can be very confusing for many clients).
