Hi all,

I'm currently developing a store with westpac payway (for credit card transactions).

One of the westpac requirements is:
You must enable the use at all times of a Secure Socket Layer (SSL) of 128-bit encryption or higher to establish a secure browser session between you and your customer when receiving cardholder information via the internet.
Can anyone suggest a good SSL certificate to use, or any I should stay away from?

Other requirements are:
* Well known and trusted name
* Minimal cost per year
* Easy setup and support
* Preferably with 'green address bar'
* Minimal effect on site performance

A couple that I'm considering are:
* Digicert SSL plus - http://www.digicert.com/welcome/ssl-plus.htm
* Trustwave (various plans offered by my web host VentraIP) - http://www.ventraipeconomy.com.au/ssl-certificates/

Thanks
Matt

Either of the ones you mention would be fine, in my view. :)

One suggestion is to balance the cost of the SSL with the needs of the store. A green bar EV SSL is more expensive, and takes more hassle to set up, while giving no great advantage to an ordinary store. That's just an opinion though.

There was a thread on this, it might have a few pointers for you
