Is this possible?

There should be a way to "sell" a promotion-code as a product. Like a gift certificate

This would work like a Gift E-Card or a Gift Certificate that can be redeemed for actual store credit. Kind of like Amazon.com E-Card

So someone could buy one and send an E-Card with a code that is good for 20 store-credit. Then the

customer will enter the code at the end of the check-out process or click through a "special link" in an email which goes to a designated page. And then finally to apply the credit to the purchase being made.

Just a suggestion Im interested in.

Could you do something with the download option?
Let them get access to new coupon code once they purchase?

I know you can define coupon codes to have a "per user" usage.
So i guess you could let them use that in the checkout to give them free "total orders" for 20 checkouts?

Just a thought, not looked into any of that properly tho

I was thinking along the lines of having the ability to sell gift-cards.

good for 20$, $50, or any amount. ( possibly have the user pick whatever they want ).

What they actually buy is a promotion code good for 1 use on a purchase.

This is so people could buy these as "gifts" and have it come with an email to the recipient with the code in it.

okay but what happens if i have a 50.00$ promo code and only buy 25.00  then I lose out on the other 25 cuz its a one time use...

don't think the promo codes are the way to go on that one..

but rather add a new field of Account Balance

itme price 20.00
shipping    5.00

total        25.00
Account  (50.00)

total Due    0.00

New account bal (25.00)

would be more how I see it...  just me though
