Hi,

I'm on Opencart version 1.4.9.1, web site is http://shop.studio433.co.uk.

I am experiencing problems with shipping charges (Royal Mail) - they are correctly calculated and displayed at checkout but when the buyer transfers to Paypal (Payments Standard) the amount that appears there is the total excluding shipping costs.

I'm not convinced this is happening every time - less than 50% of my orders are coming through with the shipping amount unpaid - but at the moment with test after test it is failing to add the charge every time for me.

The only file I have modified is the royal_mail.php module file but I temporarily put the original one back in and the problem was still there.

I note from my log files persistent repetitive "file not found" errors suggesting frequent hacking attempts which I hope are not successful. I would have thought if the site had been compromised, more obvious issues would have occurred. Nevertheless, I'm pretty sure all worked correctly when I first set up the site.

I have well over 1000 products (mostly photographs). I can't think why that should affect things but am trying to mention everything that may be untypical.

If anybody cares to test this, they are welcome to do so at the above URL - you can go as far as the PayPal page that shows how much will be taken without parting with any money.

I'm reluctant to file this as a "bug" in case I have missed something obvious but would very much appreciate any hints or guidance.

Thanks in advance,

John

Just to add to the above, in the hope that somebody can help, it looks as if some warning emails I get coincide with this situation. I get two - one is obvious but the other may be giving information that means little to me but may hep identify the problem:
  1. PP_Standard - Possible Scam: IPN/PDT Price "14.00" does not match OpenCart Total "15.3900". Order needs manual verification - fair enough, this indicates that the amount taken by Paypal does not equate to the order total plus shipping.
  2. PP_Standard - IPN/PDT Auto-Verification Failed. This is often caused by strange characters in the customer address or name. Verify manually.

DEBUG POST VARS::item_name10=Chinley North Junction (interior)&invoice=88
    ...
    [snipped long list of data]
    ...
    &item_number15=wathcentraljcn-f&address_country=United Kingdom&mc_gross=14.00&address_name=[snip]&mc_gross_10=0.75&mc_gross_11=0.75&mc_gross_12=0.50&mc_gross_13=0.75&mc_gross_14=0.75&mc_gross_15=0.75&

    DEBUG GET VARS::route=payment/pp_standard/callback&

This is saying what can often cause this problem, but how can I tell?

So much to read, so much to learn here. I'm sorry I missed that. Fantastic software, great forum.

Just had the same issue with my first out-of-country order (domestic orders ship free), it's that pesky little checkbox in my paypal shipping settings (within the paypal website), cost me 23GBP but should be all good now :)

I've just had this same problem. I think it's worth mentioning to anyone else who might be planning to accept international currencies that in PayPal I think you need to select the box for "allow transaction-based postage values to override the profile postage settings listed above" for each of the currencies you plan to accept.

Please correct me if I am wrong.
