I know this is an often asked question, but!

I have a modified UPS module to set a discount on the UPS rates pulled from the server. This is to pass on some of our negotiated rates so we are cost competitive with the competition.

However, I don't want to use that discount when quoting to Hawaii and Alaska as the discount is too much for these zones.

I am trying to work out how to duplicate the UPS module so that I can the duplicate to only appear for Hawaii and Alaska, but have the usual one appear when I quote someone in the 48 states.

I would appreciate some help on this.

Thanks

One workaround would be to exclude Alaska and Hawaii from being eligible for UPS shipping, and to funnel those customers into a weight based shipping module, instead, where you have input UPS' rates for shipping to AK and HI.

So far that's exactly how we've done it. The problem is that the rates vary so much depending on location in those states, and setting the WBS high enough to cover our butts then makes us very expensive to the cheaper cities. What I'd like to achieve is a real quote from UPS, but without the loaded discount we've built into the standard UPS module.

We also hide ground rates from our 48 states customers, as this is factored into our rate based shipping module. We then show 48 states customers the next day/2nd day prices as upgrades. These are discounted by us.

For AK and HI we want to show them ground, and not build in any discounts. Hence the reason to try and duplicate the module.

If someone wants to create this dupe for us for a small fee, PM me your offers. Note the word (small) ;)
