For more items, you edit that number in the System->Settings->option tab
Hi, guys, I have tried a few searches but havent found an answer, with regard to the above, I used @nosecret `s link to change defualt sort order to alphabetical...
What I was hoping to ad is a rule or something to check stock, if item stock quantity = 0 then it pushes the item to the bottom so essentially all out of stock items will be listed on the last pages of the category.
I hope this makes sense
It makes perfect sense, but code makes it not happen. Sorts are not by quantity by alphabet or such that would stuff the ever fewer the ever further down. You can look at the code (controller, model, template) and follow the pattern and try making it sort by quantity conditionally in your sense, but I would guess that most customers would not particularly welcome anything weird when they do what since grade school has been a straightforward matter of sorting forward or backward by alphabet, price, etc.. Think of it this way, you ask a distributor or retailer for price and availability, you can't get price if there's no current availability, and you're already grumpy before you ask, and you already lost your thinking cap.
Hi, thank you for your feedback, because I do pre-owned games which are not in endless supply, without having a person annoyed when going through the listings and having maybe 1 title in stock then in some cases the next few games listed alphabetically out of stock.
At current I have them auto-disable through a mod but I am wanting to plug in the "notify me" mod so that people can reserve items that's why they need to be somewhere out of the way.
I had a mod for out of stock stuff and I think that made a new page with the link in the footer, perhaps I should revert to that so if someone searches for something it will then come through there with the "notify option" popping up.
This sadly is only visible when a person actually searches for the specific but I guess it's better than not being there at all.
I saw the function I wanted on a games website , playasia.com
They also got cool little icons showing the stock status of the item on the category page.

In that overall context, what's wrong with the simplicity of preventing customers from ordering items that are out of stock? You can provide a short little notice to effect that some not all out of stock items may pop up, again, so check back from time to time. That avoids woodpulp or electronic paperwork to keep track of wishes for probable phantoms that may keep customers who haven't anything sensible to do happy but will completely waste your own time.
How many automotive dealers will actually bother to go through any motions whatsoever to let you know if and when they might maybe sometime gain in stock an immaculate 1917 Rolls Royce? And if you do have the bucks, those very few that will do have other means of dealing with it, they'll go find one. You're not dealing with that sort of stock or patronage. Save your time, they can check back from time to time.
