I have integrated OpenCart version 1.2.6 into my site. Basically, I copied the files in the "/theme/default" folder into "/theme/mydesign" and of course, added my sites styling. Now, I see we already have 1.2.8 available ;D
I would like to perform the upgrade steps in order to take advantage of some of the new features, but I wish to preserve my integration work. Do the new versions have changes to any of the .tpl files located in the "/common" folder (e.g. the layout.tpl, header.tpl or footer.tpl) which I should be concerned about overwriting with my older custom theme?

Please advise - thank you!

The code for config theme based only with default folder!!!!!!

Good work
Then, if I am to understand correctly, the coding in the "layout.tpl" and "header.tpl" files remains the same in the new versions?

Thank you!

This is potentially incorrect information. As of v1.2.5 OpenCart supports custom template names on the catalog side (just not the admin side). So if you want to upgrade, and you already have a new template called "mydesign" then you are fine. Upgrade will only overwrite the "default" folder.
