USPS Shipping chargers

I Installed Open cart to my site and i start setting it, I was able to create an account with USPS and was easy to integrate it with the web site, the thing I’m facing right now is the correct setting because when i add item that its about 1 OZ or 2, the shipping chargers jump to priority mail and charge 5.10 USD,
I did all the setting that it might be related, I did contact the USPS and they are saying it seems all ok and my account activated, anyone from USA have solved this problem,

1. Be sure your weight setting in the USPS extension is set to "Pounds" so that it can do calculations correctly.
2. Be sure that if you expect first class mail options that you have the setting for "Domestic First Class" set to "Package" or "Letter" and not "none" as that will assume all packages 1oz to 1lb are in the lowest priority mail bracket

USPS has recently been tested more than any other extension and I'm 100% confident in its correct behavior when configured correctly.

I'm having the exact same problem with the USPS Shipping charges. Could you please tell me which file you revised and what was changed. Also, when I go to my checkout page the priority mail option appears like this.

This was fixed back in 1.4.9.4. Get the latest files from the 1.4.9.6 version. Always been fixed in 1.5.x

How i go that version

You can get the latest USPS files from the official openCart_v1.4.9.6 or later zip file

Replace your store's version of these 5 files:
- admin/controller/shipping/usps.php
- admin/language/english/shipping/usps.php
- admin/view/template/shipping/usps.tpl
- catalog/language/english/shipping/usps.php
- catalog/model/shipping/usps.php
