Undefined Index issue with stock Carousel

Whenever I enable the stock carousel, I get an error code that reads as follows:
Notice: Undefined index: layout_id in /home/content/34/8205034/html/construction/open-cart/catalog/controller/common/column_left.php on line 50Notice: Undefined index: layout_id in /home/content/34/8205034/html/construction/open-cart/catalog/controller/common/column_right.php on line 50Notice: Undefined index: layout_id in /home/content/34/8205034/html/construction/open-cart/catalog/controller/common/content_top.php on line 50Notice: Undefined index: layout_id in /home/content/34/8205034/html/construction/open-cart/catalog/controller/common/content_bottom.php on line 50
What does this mean? Did I delete something I wasn't supposed to or what?

Here's my site http://www.sosgateopeners.com/open-cart, the carousel is enabled at the time of this post, and I'm probably going to leave it enabled until I can figure this out.

If you have any idea what's going, any help is really appreciated, thank you.

P.S. I'm running version 1.5

I have exactly the same problem coming from 1.9.6 go 1.5.1.1. ?

if you have upgraded, you need to uninstall each module and reinstall.

Yes i did. but when installing the caroussel module and ad a banner to this it fails. when only installing module without any banner no errors occur

Still have this problem. Are there anybody out there knowing how to solve this problem. Also today I once more tried to remove all modules, payments, shipping modules everything. Nothing changed in the behaviour

I had the same Issue after upgrading from 1.5.0.5 to 1.5.1.1

what i did was edit the layout first. Added a new layout with only common

then created a new banner and saved then refreshed by store and it worked. O0

Hi all,

I too have this problem. My carousel on the homepage gives the above errors also. I am unclear as to what you mean by your instructions above. Please can you explain in a little more detail?

If anyone has a solution to this I would be most grateful to hear from you :-)

(I'm also using version 1.5.1 coming from 1.4.9.5)

I could have wished that this issue had been discussed more precisely - But of coarse the right people have to have the time for this . I have used a lot of time to solve this as I believed that nothing was wrong as the answer was that nothing was wrong and one had to follow the instructions.
