Hi i m new to opencart and php programming.
any one knows about the Download Modules how to activate it ?
Please help me in this regard i shall be very thankful.

you don't need to activate.. Just go to Admin, Catalog-Download. add your downloadable goods (make sure Total Downloads Allowed not 0), then go to Catalog-Product. Add new product, and in DATA tab select downloadable file you want to sell , or more then one.

But if the software or downloadable stuff is for free ?
i think there is no option for free stuff. i want to place some software for free if i set price to zero (0) but still shoping cart appear.
Please guide me in this regard whether i can place free stuff to download with no shopping cart appear?

I dind't tried but you can do this:
go to admin-settings, Order Status: select - completed.
then go to extentions-payment. Install Cash On Delivery.
and thats it those settings will make ALL orders to be as completed so people will be able to download products.
But if you want to just to have download center-search for other script
this is shop, so looks interesting to use as download system
