Hey guys I wish I could use my own page instead of the maintenance appearance so I can work from my admin panel and still see the store under development.

I already created another index but admin panel will not show the store front even with maintenance mode on.

Any ideas?

You can. If you're logged in to the admin and click the "Store Front" link in the menu (next to the "Logout" link), you can view the store even when in maintenance mode. Your customers, however, will see the maintenance message.

Yeah that is the case when having the original index.php in place. As I said I have replaced the main index to have a better one while the site is under construction. So I am looking for keeping the one I made and still see the store front from admin panel or a script that maintenance mode will use that "Under Construction" page I made instead of the normal script for the purpose.

Dont know if I am explaining myself fine.

Instead of using a custom index page, you could always modify the maintenance page's template file (catalog/view/theme/default/template/common/maintenance.tpl) to look the way you want it to look. That's how I'd go about it.

I think thats the question I should have asked in the first place. Thanks for letting me know where that page is.

Do you think there is something I can do to redirect maintenance to open that page I have made?

It could be easier as I am not experienced in coding.

Does anyone know how to trick the mode? And bring that page as the front store instead of the normal behaviour?
