Category problem

I'm new to Opencart and have installed v1.2.5. This may be a stupid question but does anyone know why I cannot click on any of the categories?

the category links are simple href tags.

do you have a link to your site?

its possible that its because I use &amp instead of & in the url. This is common practise to make the html validate.

I think the problem is your browser.

Anyone else had this problem?
