remove category number after link and larger admin list

2 simple questions for 1.5.0.5.

1: how do i remove the number after each category in sidebar? i honestly don't get what it means as the numbers don't add up and would like it gone but can't seem to find how.

2: in admin section when adding a product you can select category in a list, but it's so small. i can only see 2 categories a time and it takes forever to get to the right one. can i make this bigger?

thanks that seems to have done it. only one that hasn't changed is the top bar category list which still has numbers. how do i change this?

out of interest what do they show? the numbers don't add up for me

the numbers are the product counts for products you have linked to those categories

one feature i would like to see is the parent categories having the ability to auto inherit the child category products or at least have an option to be set to do so.

You may have not ticked all the categories and their parent categories when adding the categories in your product edit screen

ANOTHER QUESTION which is kind of related. how do i increase the size of the image chosing box? it's fairly small and takes a while to find the correct image.
