Hey all,

Here are the basics:
  • OpenCart 1.4.9.2
  • Hosted on Apache 2 and MySQL 5; PHP 5
  • My browser: Chrome dev channel on Mac OS X 10.6.4
  • Minor CSS and .tpl edits (strictly styling)
  • Very minimal .php edits (adding a return row for product options)
  • Only one extension installed: Canada Post Shipping Module
I know its been stated that this is a result of a template issue / error, however I've completed a vanilla install with this bug still present.

Upon attempting to check out as either a guest or customer, attempting to input any a coupon code at either screen (step 2 or final review), I get the standard error
Error: Coupon is either invalid, expired or reached its usage limit!
Note: I ensured that the coupon's date range is not expired and that it's available to all products.

I tested this on a vanilla 1.4.9.1 install with the one Canada Post Shipping Module as well enabled. It still appears spits out the error.

Example:
Check out with coupon codes FREESHIP, 1111, 2222, or 3333 (all except first are default with date ranges modified)

This gets reported as a bug quite often but has been disproven every time. Perhaps the errors could be more distinct to help troubleshoot better.

Check the following:
- The "Total Amount" is below your current total. This is the main one that gets people
- Coupon End Date has not expired
- Coupon total uses has not been reached or is set to 0 (no limit)
- Coupon uses per customer has not been reached or is set to 0 (no limit)
- The products in your cart are valid for the coupon
- The coupon is enabled
- The must be logged in option is not conflicting your current checkout method

  • Total amount is set to 0
  • End date is set to 2011-07-22
  • Coupon total uses set to blank (saves as 0)
  • Coupon users per customer set to blank (saves as 0)
  • No products selected (so valid for all products)
  • Not entirely sure what you mean by the last option... Guests can check out and coupon set to not require customer login
I made sure to search the forums and thus far I think I satisfy the common mistakes

[EDIT]
Here is a video of me going through every option and showing coupon and product configuration:

Same issue here. The coupon function works inconsistently. I try creating different coupons with different settings. Some customers are able to apply the code, some get an error.

Would love to finally resolve this.
