Hi,

I have discovered that my site is running more than 60000 queries in an hour. My host allows an average of 45000 per hour before penlising the server so it runs slowlly. Is there any way around reducing the number of queries. Only got around 3,000 products and a handfull of categories.

any help will be much appreciated.

read this thread http://forum.opencart.com/viewtopic.php?f=20&t=34851

If you have vqmod installed you can try the second vqmod file I provide and see if that helps.

I agree with Xsecrets suggestion, but, at the same time I would add that 3K products are not really a few products...
Number of queries can be high anyway, even with some code optimizations. Don't you have the possibility to discuss with your hosting provider an increase of those limitations?

thaks Xsecrets I dont have vqmod installed but will try and install it and reduce the category count.
madimar the only option they offer is to use a plugin of some sort or to upgrade to a dedicated server, not very helpful :(
wanna try and bring the quieres down some how without moving any products, does the number of products have much to do with the number of queires? as searching 100 products would be one query as would searching 1000 products be one quiery?

Many Thanks

The number of categories has more to do with it, because a product count query is run for each category on every page load, however the vqmod from that other thread caches that.
