Disable subcategory page

Hello,

I was searching in the posts and did not find the solution.

I need to disable Category as link. So in menu it shows Category as text and subcategories normaly as links. Therefore it would never lead to subcategories list page, also it should be out from Breadcrumb and Sitemap.

Is theare any solution for this? I was playing with category.php but no luck for the moment.

set sort order to -1 to hide it from the category sidebox

Thanks for the answer. That would be easy just to set -1. But it does not do what I need. What I need is not to hide category but disable the link for main categories only. So I do not have the extra Subcategory list page. Any idea?

This would be something I would look for too.

When there are no products to display on a certain category level I would like to have the homepage visible and not the category-list. Any ideas how to do this in 1.5?
