Will there be an addition to the payment module so that a customer can charge to their instore account?

On of the options would be "Charge to my account". Then a space for a purchase order. This would be a credit account we extend to our existing customers. If they choose this option, the order process would be continue. The order would process.

Not completely sure to understand but I will try...
If you don't need a real automatic management and check of credit account, you could just use bank transfer payment method or cheque payment method to do a similar thing, modifying their labels.

If you need a real management of credits... you should look for a contribution, maybe something similar already exists (I'm not sure but I remember something). Maybe Store Credit from the great Q is what you are looking for:
