I've just started fresh from 1.5. My 1.4 is so modified and extended that I'm afraid an upgrade script would make my computer burst into flames.
I just installed 1.5.0 today and after install noticed that there is 1.5.0.2 out already!
My problem is that i cannot find UPGRADE.TXT file in opencart_v1.5.0.2 that i downloaded.
Can someone let me know how the upgrade process works? or where is UPGRADE.TXT ?

there is no upgrade in any version of 1.5 yet, however to upgrade from 1.5.0 to 1.5.0.2 all you need to do is overwrite all the files but the config.php and admin/config.php There have been no db changes since 1.5.0bobpour wrote:I just installed 1.5.0 today and after install noticed that there is 1.5.0.2 out already!

@Xsecrets, some people just don't like to read I guess
,
thnx for response and noted regarding the upgrade.
It' might sound dumb but shouldn't someone modify the install.txt file that comes with the download and takeout "read upgrade.txt"?
I was looking for upgrade.txt for half an hour!

What is Qphoria working on then?Xsecrets wrote:how do you read this tread an ask this question? It's been stated several times in the thread now there is no upgrade script.damian wrote:I have 1.4.8 installed, will this upgrade script work for mew?
he's working on the upgrade script. You do realize working on it means it's not done meaning it doesn't exist meaning you can't use it. Trust us we'll announce when it's done.damian wrote:What is Qphoria working on then?Xsecrets wrote:how do you read this tread an ask this question? A quick update on the upgrade script/process for 1.4.x to 1.5.x
There are a lot of little things and I think I've got them all ported over
What is done:
- Creation of new tables
- Additional Stores moved from store table to Setting table
- DB Column renames (meta_keywords to meta_keyword, key to code, invoice_id to invoice_no,etc)
- Old tables removed
- Movement of coupon_id from order table to coupon_history table
- Addition of new columns to existing table
- Upgrade compatibility from 1.4.0 through 1.5.0.3
- Script re-run protection
What is NOT done:
- Product options conversion
- Order product options conversion
Technically, people that have stores without product options can probably use it now.
I also have a step by step process that you will follow along with this script to ensure a smoother upgrade.
Realistically, what can be expected from this upgrade process when finished:
- Most 3rd party addons, mods, vqmods, and extensions will need updated versions or will throw errors.
- The vQmod changes for the index.php will need to be made again after the upgrade.

Additionally:The upgrade process will:
- Preserve your customers, products, orders, etc
- Preserve and convert your additional stores to the new system
- Preserve your coupons and update the coupon history table
- Add all the new fields, rename new fields, add all the new tables
The upgrade process will not:
- Preserve your module layout or settings as the module system has changed
- Preserve your theme as the layout system has changed.
- Preserve your welcome message as that is a module now
- Most 3rd party addons, mods, vqmods, and extensions will need updated versions or will throw errors.
- The vQmod changes for the index.php will need to be made again after the upgrade.
Great work so far Q!
What is your ETA on a complete upgrade script?
Where can we get hold of the script that is good for the 'none product option' people?
Cheers
