Can i save chinese character in SQL?

i already set the charset in index.php from UTF-8 to GB2312(Chinese Simplified),
it works well n i can see all the chinese characters which i have typed in those .php files ,
however for all those information (such as category name , product name , "about us", "terms and conditions", welcome message) that need to modify thru admin , it always show ????, most of the time i even can't save it , it will displays the error message :" must be greater than 2 and less than 32 characters!

so , is there anyway for me to save chinese character for those informations....? izzit SQL problem?

Nope, it has nothing to do with your db tables. Those messages come from the language files. You will need to translate & update those files with the Chinese equivalents.
