RK, Search and find this info below from Q to find download. You then need to use an SVN client to export the code from the repository. Use RapidSVN or TortoiseSVN for a client, but you still need to learn from the internet a little about those SVN clients. Then remember that the SVN is a work in progress. Good luck!

I didn't see if someone else mention it, in the Admin side, Catalog/Products/Attribute, now you have to write text into textbox, maybe it would be better if you can select it from dropdown.
And also option system seems for me little too complex, but that's me.

As someone else said it before, just my 2c.

I think that the template seems to be taking time off more important things... Here's my suggestion of a simple template for Opencart. Sometimes, simple is elegant. This would be my idea of a good template where the product menus stay contained inside the modules, as to now. Personally I would leave megamenus for another version of OC in which the header menu could be configurable from admin:

if you don't know how to use SVN then you probably ought to let him jump ship since you won't be capable of supporting an RC version anyways, and there is no set date on the official release so there's no way you can set a hard commitment date.

Thanks for the vote of confidence. Only an IDIOT would use a RC version of any software in a production setting, which I am NOT an IDIOT. As for Not Knowing how to use an SVN... I can learn just as I have done everything in life. As i mentioned, the features of the forth coming version of OC are among my customers wish list and being able to see them in action will prevent him from jumping ship. So keeping an up to date demo site will give my customers something to look forward too and know OC is still being improved and supported. Next time you want to criticize someone, pick someone different.

I agree 100% simple is better. Functionality is more important. I never had a customer call us to say the reason they didn't complete their order because the blue colored taps was not their favorite color. However, many customers did tell us that the check out took too long or they wanted to add an item to the cart but they had to go back several pages to find it etc.

Amazon.com would have a big problem if all the customers cared about is how the template looked. In my opinion amazon has one of the worst looking cart, but boy it works!

Take a look at the link provided by i2Paq a few posts up as it contains everything you need to know about SVN. If you download the software (see the link for recommendation - I use Tortoise which is very easy) you can then use windows explorer to retrieve the SVN files. The link really will explain it better than I could and once you download and install Tortoise it pops up some instructions telling you how to use it. It takes literally 5minutes to download the latest version.

I think so too. Kinda frustrating that time is being spent on something that won't please 100% of the people no matter what you do. Functionality needs to be focused on, bugs need to be squashed, new features tested and fine tuned. The theme is best left up to 3rd party theme developers.

Please just leave the theme the same as RC1 and be done with it. I'll be customizing it anyway and i'm sure almost everyone else will too. Really looking forward to RC2 so we can continue bug squashing.

After reading many other views about the template function..

I do agree that it would be a great addition to the core if there's a function to set what type of orientation we would like to have, ie :

1) Categories -- at the top / sidebar -- suckerfish accordion etc..
2) Top menu -- should be a fixed orientation at the top -- Home / Login / Account -- with dropdown menu is cool..
3) Add ability to have external links on top menu (especially) & side bar

I thought the layout editor was scrapped in favor of the current way modules are assigned. Not sure if the layout editor will ever come back, although it seems it would be easier than the current method.

Whatever the outcome I hope that categories will remain a side module, or at least give us the option to choose in the admin whether we want them in the horizontal mega menu or in the side module. I prefer the site's main navigation links across the top and the product categories in a side module.

Hopefully over time the site will become more and more modular, so that moving elements around the page would be much easier.

Yes modules are great but one thing we don't want is OC to become like Magneto where its all modules and page load is extremely slow and then you will be forced to buy a dedicated server. I like OC to be dynamic but at the same time keep it lightweight.

First and foremost, thank you for this great open source shopping cart!

Mean! Thanks guys. I am testing 1.5.0 on my localhost. Features and the new theme looks awesome. If I wanted to use Opencart now, am I better off downloading the full version of 1.4.9 and then upgrade to a higher version after 1.5.0?
