Adjusted the gzip settings from 0 to 1, and now my admin page won't load. (I had some new gzip errors in my error logs, and mistakenly thought that this might fix them.)
Here is my site:
http://www.steamcrow.com/admin
The error I get is this:
Error 324 (net::ERR_EMPTY_RESPONSE): The server closed the connection without sending any data.
Using OC 1.4.9.4
Host: Dreamhost
Not sure how to fix this, or set gzip back to 0.
If I need to get into the DB to change this, please let me know what table might allow me to change this. (Not a DB guru... but know how to get there with my webhost.)
Thank you!
(And very excited about OC 1.5)

phpmyadmin :: opencartDB (whatever your db is called) :: settings ::: config_compression
fix, compression is a hit an miss thing. Depends on your hosting.

That did the trick.
I was looking for "gzip" in the title... and couldn't find it.
Thank you! Thank you!
I appreciate you helping out!

I cleared the errors a few hours ago... after we fixed the gzip setting... and I've got a ton of those errors again. Lots and lots.
Never seen this one before.

Also, could be cgi version of php that is causing you tis problem.

While the moving to the latest version of php didn't work, I eventually figured out that the error log was showing some errors that some malicious code had running on my site.
Basically, a string like this was in the top line of every piece of php in the root:
<?php /**/ eval(base64_decode(
Followed by a massive string of characters.
Once I deleted it out of the index.php, things cleared up.
I'm still cleaning house, but I have changed my FTP password.
Thanks for your help.
