Categories Will not Delete/Not showing in Admin

Opencart version 1.4.9.4
I've deleted all products off my site along with all the products using the import pro. Everything worked out fine except for the main categories, they still show on store front and do not show up in the admin.
How do I remove the categories so that I can upload everything once again?

Sounds like you're caching them. go to /system/cache/ and delete any files that start

I deleted the .cache files and that seemed to remove everything I wanted it to remove, however I can NOT upload anymore and keep getting this message, "Warning: No file or empty file, just saving!"
The file contains over 17,000 items, I've tried doing "add" and "add/update" and neither work. Before I deleted the .cache files the upload was working fine. Because I am in the very early stages of setting up the site, I deleted everything including the opencart. I re-installed everything from scratch and I'm still getting the same error message when I try uploading.

I've not used the import pro mod to be honest, so can't really give any exact advice as to why that's happening. Have you tried to reduce the number to see if smaller quantities work? It could be you need to increase the post max size and max upload sizes

For whatever reason it had to do with the product weight of 0. (i don't have all the weights yet) The products that are set to 0 shipping weights were changed to 0.00. I uploaded the file with success.
