UPS and Weight based shipping configuration

i'm using weight based shipping on some products and UPS shipping on others and everything is working fine except when you checkout the cart will allow the user to choose between UPS options OR weight based options. how can i make it so that if a weight option is available it will hide the other ups shipping options?
