Special and Discount are 2 different things in the cart.
Please set a normal price.
Then try ONLY special price (using the "special" tab in the admin).
Then experiment with ONLY discount (using the "discount" tab in the admin).
Then try both together.
This should work.

Hi there,
I have also been struggling with adding a special price to a product and showing it in the specials module and its simply not working. I used a clean Opencart install and whatever i do it wont show up in the specials module. Am i missing something? Am i the only one with this problem? I cant seem to find any answer on the internet.
Any solution anyone?

make sure you are using the specials tab not the discount tab. Make sure that you have a valid date range. Check the start date set it a day in the past (sometimes due to time differences it won't pick up for several hours if you leave it set to same day.)

Not sure what you mean by that last comment, but I just set up a specials section this am and here's what I did. I only used 2 screens: catalog > products > insert and Modules > specials.
1. Add the product as normal with all info on the first 3 product tabs (general, data, links) and then click on the "special" tab in the add products screen. Set your sale price and if you want to, a date range to start/end the sale (I left these blank). Save the product as normal.
2. In Modules > Specials tell it how many products to show, image size, which layout to install it on (home if you are using the default template/layout), position and sort order you want and make sure it's enabled. Save.
You should now see the product in the specials box on your home page (along with any other products you give a "specials" price to).

Running Opencart v3.0.3.9 with multi-stores and the default template from https://www.labeshops.com which has links to all my stores.
If I want a special to run for one day do I make the start and end date the same day? or do I make the end day the following day?
