Hey Everyone:

When i upload the Manufactures names on my spreadsheet it will indeed show on the on the spreadsheet and all, But after it verifies,, im getting all these errors that none of the manufacturers exists or something. so i manually added some and they show on my front page now under the "Brands" dropdown, But when you click on any of them all you get is the "There are no products to list from this manufacturer."

Store front http://randkdeals.tk/index.php

Thanks for any help!

Okay the first obvious question is: Have you tied certain products to those different manufacturers?

In your admin, edit a product then go to LINKS. The first drop down is choose a manufacturer

I am willing to bet you my Pizza Hut Pizza (well maybe not) that the manufacturer_id field in your product TABLE is empty:)

Hover over CATALOG, click on products. If you have already made some products then click on EDIT. If not, choose INSERT. Once in there click on the LINKS TAB and you will see the manufacturers drop down menu

I agree. So you said that you were using an excel CSV upload to populate the database?

Basically as long as the manufacturer_id field is being populated in the product TABLE then you will be okay. Can you get into your database to look at what is going on?

Okay, you really need to consider using an extension that was built for OC. Perhaps you are but you still won't go into further detail.

Go to the extensions and search for import, or csv.

There are many.

First I think it silly that they don't give you access to your database. At least a PHPmyADMIN?

You mentioned you were importing a spread sheet for your products. Exactly how were you doing this? Spread sheet to me means an EXCEL sheeet or CSV. If that is the case then yes there are extensions that do that .

The reason i dont have access to my database or c-panel is because its on a temp host and she wont give me access..

Yes i am importing my products via excel spreadsheet...

I can upload the spreadsheet if it would help.

You are uploading this data but HOW? You said that you have no access to your database and you are not using an OC extension to upload your spread sheet to populate the OC database. Just how are you doing it? Do you even know? O0
