Multiple flat rate shipping?

you don't need that
just use the weight based module and set different zones and have the rate
99999999:5 ($5 for all domestic basically, set to USA / All Zones)
and
99999999:10 ($10 for all international)

I just found this post after i already added some more flat rate modules.

what i did on this one is duplicate all the "flat" files (5 of them in total). then i ran a "replace" in all the files replacing all instances of "flat" with with a new variable name, e.g. "flat2".

Seems to be working fine. Should i be concerned with anything from this approach?

Hi George....

Where there any database changes needed for this?

Also, was it just EVERY place flat appeared, as some of the instances just don't look like they should be changed :)
