Have a look through the extensions catalog. There are several extensions that look like good candidates for your requirement.

I just released a Quantity-Based Shipping extension that would work for you, available here:

Perfect - was just about to ask if 'Quantity based' shipping would be the one that would work for me (as I don't want to purchase and find it's not the right one) - Will buy yours tomorrow morning Jonathan as I've had a few wines tomight and my brain has gone fuzzy. Thanks so much for your help!

You need to upload the contents of the upload folder onto the root of your OpenCart installation. This means you're dragging the "admin" folder on top of your "admin" folder and "catalog" folder on top of your "catalog" folder. There aren't any files that get overwritten, so that just places the files in the correct locations.

Give it another try and let me know if you have further issues.

Hi Jonathan,

I can't seem to find this one in your catalogue. I know the post is some years old. Has it been renamed to volume based shipping? If so, would this be suitable for adding a per item postage rate?

Thanks in advance

It has been retitled to Item-Based Shipping -- I've just edited my original post to reflect this. (I may be changing it back to Quantity-Based Shipping in the future, though, since people seem to find the current name confusing vs. Volume-Based Shipping.) It still works for charging a per-item postage rate, although if you think you might change how you charge shipping in the future, you may want to consider getting Formula-Based Shipping instead. It's more powerful, and can do per-item shipping as well.
