Everytime I input a new product, it just adds to the products on the front page in the order that I input them, as well as the latest products module. (I am talking about the main central two rows of products)
Being the front/welcome page of my shop, like a shop window I want my best displays and products on show, but I can't seem to find any "sort order" option like you do with the categories and brands etc?
There has to be something in the product file that I haven't noticed!
New to this, but want my shop to succeed like averyone else!
Thanks

If you're not living on the edge ... you're taking up too much space!
For example, if you go to my shop www.sarafansports.co.uk/shop
In the middle two rows, how could I swap the Oxederm spray and capsules with the liquid barn eggs?
They are in two different places, and re-positioning the items in these rows are what I am after!
Thanks very much
I have new items coming on. But I cont put them in an order I want, there is a sort order in admin but what use is it? Is there any mod to create a custom order instead of the current first in last up???
So if I have some new items and I want them in the middle for the rest, I need to remove all the items above put the new ones in and start again putting the old ones in over them.....
Time wasting!
Could this not be added to the next update?
As this is a great open source system! And don’t want to be forced to use the others.
Please this is very important...
Thanks

it is not a real answer to your sort order, but maybe it is of interest for you. I just released and "Advanced Featured Module", simplify the way to choose products to be shown in Home, "tagging" them directly in each product page, instead of use standard "Featured" module.
If you have one minute, take a look at it:

I will also take into consideration your "sort" feature in next releases.

It also has several different layout/looks.
Selected 148, this is a great module, I use it myself.
This module allows you to feature selected products on your home page. Although similar to the existing Featured Products module on the home page, it is an independent module. This allows you to use your Featured Products module in the column, and still highlight selected products on the home page.
Module has the following configurable options:
* limit
* status
* sort order
* grid view selection
* cells per grid row
* number of characters for description
* selection of products
Simple plug and play installation, with nothing overwritten.

I purchased your "Categories 148" ("Category Product Home) module. Works great, but I'd like to sort it from new to old products (product ID). How do I do that?fido-x wrote:By default, the latest products module is displayed on the home page. This displays your most recently added products. You can disable it in the administration, under "Extensions->Modules", click the "Edit" link for the "Latest" module. You can then "position" the "Featured" module on the home page and select whatever products you want.
I'm a newbie to opencart I want to know how I show my latest products on main/home page
Appreciate your prompt response.
Many Thanks,
